Configuration
The configuration of the Archibus installation at El Camino has been broken down into the following four sections. Each section provides a succinct outline of the El Camino specific installation set up.
Physical Environment
The physical environment covers the hardware, client, and directory structure of the installation. Although the configuration of the physical environment is specific for El Camino, it is not considered to be customized.
Servers
Below is a table of the servers used by the Archibus installation:

Access Permissions and Security
Access to the different servers is dependent on the user’s job function, and the tasks being accomplished. There are four groups that access these servers: IT, CAFM USERS, CAFM ADMINISTRATORS, CLIENT USERS.
Development Environment (dbserverv16.rsc2lc.com)
The Development database and application server are the most open. These may be changed frequently to test concepts and check impacts. The data here can and should be refreshed from Production regularly.
Production Environment (dbserverv16.rsc2lc.com)
Adjustments to the schema of the database on the production server require IT involvement and the completion of several steps in the Change Request and Completion process. As this takes four weeks or more to complete, it is not to be entered into lightly.

Access to the DATABASE servers is controlled by a mixture of Windows Authentication IDs and standard validation. Ability to work with the data determined by position in the company and the Level of access to the server: IE IT dept w/ Full access to everything vs. User w/ access to some portion of data.

Clients
User Systems
Archibus client software is configured or installed on the user PCs listed below.
In most cases the Archibus client software itself is not actually installed on the PC. Each client runs the Archibus executable and support files over the network from the mapped drive. Only configuration parameters and interface files are stored on the client PC.
Other client PCs, usually located outside the [Main Office], have the Archibus client software installed directly on a local hard drive.

Timed Routine Systems
Timed routine machines are used for the automation of web page generation, data transfer to Workday and for updating the Archibus calculations such as “update area totals” and “perform chargeback”.
Structure
The locations of the ARCHIBUS files are described below. Additionally, Databases used for production, development, and forecast purposes are identified. Additional databases may be added for forecast or other purposes. The structure described below was designed for maximum flexibility with multiple database use.
