- Open desired drawing in AutoCAD.
- Click on the Utilities tab in the top menu.
- Click on the ‘Rename Building and Floor’ button.
- Select the desired Building Code and Room Number.
- Click Ok.
- Click on the ARCHIBUS tab in the top menu.
- Step missed in video: Catalogue your rm and gros layers
- Publish Enterprise Graphics.
- Save the drawing.
- Move necessary files, if needed, into the correct folders for the drawing.
- Close the drawing.
Note: if you had the drawing catalogued against the old building or floor code, you will need to remove the building or floor record. Removing that will also remove the room records.

Hello,
after “HOW TO RENAME A BUILDING IN AUTOCAD” =
Published wrong floor – I did change floor from 1st to 3rd floor (this video work perfect) – but how do I rename drawing from 1st floor to 3rd floor?
example:
B5-BPR-01 to B5-BPR-03 (This published drawing)
Thank you,
Hi Mayank,
This article describes how to rename the drawing: https://rsc2lc.com/knowledgebase/renaming-autocad-drawings/
You don’t have access to make the fields editable to change the building name so I will do that part for you and reach out by email.
Janice
What effect will this have on employee records assigned to the old BLID?
